Sports give children vital skills when growing up, and sadly some do not have the proper access to gear. Giving a child the ability to play sports is great for health, building leadership and teamwork skills, and having fun. Every piece of gear will allow a child to experience sports.
Sports-Share is an organization that I created when I was 9 years old, which collects, sorts, and donates sports gear to children in need. I started this organization because I played a soccer team in a 4v4 tournament which did not have the proper gear. Sports-Share is an organization that I created when I was 9 years old, which collects, sorts, and donates sports gear to children in need. I started this organization because I played a soccer team in a 4v4 tournament which did not have the proper gear. I proceeded to ask the coach after the game if he would like gear donations (because cleats are generally worn for a season until they are grown out of, and are still in good condition), and he said yes. Now, we have collected over 5,000 pieces of sports gear and expanded to multiple volunteers.
We donate the majority of the gear to local organizations/places in the Bay Area. Many of these places are overlooked and are in great need of support.
